Preventing Bullying
Overview

Bullying includes physical, social, verbal, and cyberbullying. It can harm confidence, friendships, and learning.

Preventative Measures:
✅ Stay in groups—avoid isolated areas.
✅ Identify and trust supportive adults (teachers, counsellors).
✅ Be alert to your surroundings.
✅ Speak up when you see bullying—silence protects the bully.
✅ Report incidents to teachers or parents.
✅ Stand up for others and promote kindness.

Key Message:

“If you see something, say something.”
Everyone is responsible for stopping bullying.

Looking Out for Each Other

"Hi, I’m Zinhle, and I go to school in Cape Town. Every morning in our class circle, we talk about how we’re feeling. One day, I noticed that Thabo was sitting alone during break, not joining the soccer game.

I asked him to play with me and my friends. Soon, other learners joined too, and Thabo didn’t feel left out anymore. It felt good to help someone feel included. I learned that looking out for each other and being kind can stop bullying before it even starts."
